I purchased a Menominee Wind foal named Menominee SilverStorm, Stormy, on 9/3/2006. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. When I purchased Stormy he was not broke to ride, but after 30 days of riding I took him to the St. Jude Trail Ride in Arena, WI. He never once refused to go up and down the steep hills and he walked over logs with no hesitation. Stormy has such a wonderful temperament and his appreance is so flashy that where ever I take him he turns people's heads. He is definitely one of the family and I would never dream of selling him. Once again, thanks for a wonderful Menominee Wind foal!

I sold Nelson as a weanling and really didn't spend much time with him. He was a well balanced foal with wonderful color and tons of dun factor. He had an easy going, nice to work with disposition.

I first saw Wind at the 2006 Minnesota Horse Expo. His color and confirmation caught my eye immediately and when I approached Dick to ask about Wind I assumed from his calm demeanor that he was a gelding and was shocked to find out he was a stallion. When I saw his bloodlines I thought that he would be great to cross with my AQHA mare (Leo, Three Bars, Top Deck, Wimpy). Dick and Dee were eager and willing to work with me on the timing of the breeding. In the spring/summer of 2007 we started the process and Dick and Dee have been great to work with. Through a couple of FedEx problems they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and the mare was a high priority. They even drove hundreds of miles on a holiday weekend to make sure we could make it happen! Their willingness to work with us and ensure that our mare settled and that we were happy customers made me like them even more and validated our choice to breed our mare to Menominee Wind. Not only is he beautiful and full of color, his temperament and easy going attitude is something that I hope he passes on to the foal. The mare is due in May 2008 and will be on display during the 2007 Minnesota State Fair.

Some things are just meant to be. Last year, my family moved next door to the Cornings. That same year three beautiful foals were born on their farm. As a very neighborly gesture, Dick and Dee invited our family into their barn every time a foal was born. My girls and I loved being involved with each birth, but it was foal number two that got us totally hooked. Right from day one, I knew that I could never let Poco leave this farm. Her personality and sweet disposition has made a strong bond between us all. She is so quiet that even at only a month old she would lay down in the stall and let the girls (ages 5&9) brush her and even pick her feet! She loves people and really wants to please. When we started training her, we were tickled that she is so soft, smooth, and smart. There is one drawback though..she's too young to ride! This summer I got antsy about buying a horse for me to ride now and for my daughters to ride when I start on Poco. I looked through the classified ads and nothing quite measured up to what I have in Poco. Dick and Dee finally offered to sell me their two year old gelding, Pep. Pep is a full brother to Poco, and I have always thought Pep is a good looking dude. In 2005 Pep was a WFQHA World Champion Weanling Colt! At first I was apprehensive about riding such a young horse as I've only been riding for about four years. But, just as Pep is outstanding on longeline, he is proving that he is great under saddle too. He is soft and supple, willing and smart. And boy does he sit down on a stop! We have had so much fun with these young horses, and this is just the beginning!

We met The Corning family at the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison. They were very pleasant people and allowed us in the stall to see Menominee Wind. We had purchased a breeding for our POA mare through the WSHC stallion auction. We were very pleased with Windy in person. He had very good confirmation and a wonderful disposition. The Cornings went over all his traits and answered all our questions. They had previously sent us photos and a video of the stallion to help us make our decision. Judy Guenther, the breeder answered all our questions since this was our first time to have a mare bred. She escorted us around the farm and explained how everything would work. She took excellent care of our mare while she was at the farm and we were happy to learn that our mare took. Our mare foaled on the exact due date according to the foal calculator. What good timing for us as we were home the whole day. She had a beautiful grulla colt with a star and snip. He has been a friendly and people oriented foal since the day he was born. The colt has turned out very well. He went in for halter training as a yearling and won the weanling/yearling halter class at our local open show in 2006. He has grown and filled out even more this year. He will stay POA height so will have permanent POA papers. He is developing white roaning over his rump with darker spots. He has been gelded and will be lightly started under saddle this fall. We plan on showing him next year under saddle. He continues to have a great disposition and is calm with many different activities going on around him. We are very happy with him. I am so glad we met the Cornings and Judy Guenther and had our mare bred to Windy. They have all kept in touch over the years and enjoy our updates on our Windy gelding. They have been a joy to work with since we first contacted them about their stallion.

I wanted you to know that I enjoyed your DVD very much and understand how proud you are of your beautiful Grulla Stallion. I think the DVD was done beautifully and certainly shows how versatile and willing he is. Thanks so much for sharing him with me. I wish you the very best luck and much enjoyment in the future with your outstanding horse.

We bred our grulla mare to Menominee Wind for a 2007 foal and Dee Corning from Menominee Pines Farm was a delight to work with. She's a great communicator, pleasant, and timely in her response. We received the DVD which was a great way to see the stallion. Our filly came in exactly what I had hoped for, a black filly with no white markings. We're very happy with the results of the breeding and I plan to breed to him in the future.

I am just amazed at the learning ability of the three foals that I have had the pleasure of owning these last two years. As you know, Zips Sassy Wind is in training with Judy Guenther. I am getting nothing short of excellent reports on Sassy in saddle training, her ability to grasp new learning experiences, and to expand on them further. Last Letters To Wind, who now resides in Jamestown, ND, is also coming along just great. I have been getting great feedback on him as well. His love for people is astounding and kids, he just adores them even more. He has such an even temperment and does whatever you ask of him. Zip's Indigo Wind is also a very special boy. He is a full sibling to Zips Sassy Wind. He is the second grulla that I have gotten from Menominee Wind. Sassy is the only bay with dun factor. All of these babies have been a joy to work with. They are sensitive to training, very quick learners, so people oriented, and just soak up the attention. My farrier has nothing but praise when working on these guys. He just loves the fact that they have such excellent feet. They hold their shape well from trim to trim. Even with all the dry weather and bad stomping from the flies, they have not chipped. They are so strong. I just want you to know that I have had a great learning experience with these babies. They have taught me how to train better with an individual that is not dull and will grasp issues very quickly with such sensitivity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
